Nour Goda is a Muslim Arab American and native of the Bronx, New York. She was born in Damascus and is of Palestinian and Syrian descent. Nour grew up in a low-middle-income household, attended New York City public schools, and was supported by her family and mentors to take advantage of the educational opportunities available to her. 

She is a graduate of Connecticut College, where she majored in English and minored in Religious Studies. She earned her master's degree in English Education in 2011 and has been working in public, private, and charter schools since 2008. Nour also holds a Montessori Administrator's credential and served as a Montessori school administrator for three years. 

In 2015, Nour reverted after having left the fold of Islam for nearly a decade. Recognizing that her experience is not unique and that there is a dire need among Arabs and Muslims to address highly sensitive and controversial matters, such as atheism, Nour decided to develop a multimedia initiative dedicated to candid, intracommunity dialogue. Thus, she launched the Between Arabs Project, a podcast and blog. Working alongside lay Muslim Americans, Nour interviewed influential Muslim figures such as author Umm Zakiyyah, law professor Khaled Beydoun, and comedian Said Durrah. The podcast covered topics such as faith crises, sexuality, polygamy, feminism, race politics, and more. In 2017, Nour decided to discontinue the Between Arabs Project in order to refocus her energy and work.
